Plugging in: 젝스키스 - 커플

Happy birthday to The Mother! Forgot her age though - I remember the year she was born only. 1959. So that makes her... 47?! I never knew The Mother was that old...

Anyways, I got offered a temporary job as a Toshiba model for the upcoming Comex show at Singapore Expo. The job requirements are - stand there, smile, and get $100 per day. Sounds so easy, isn't it? However, I had to turn it down. No thanks to my "deformities". Jei, sometimes, it's hard not to regret the things I did.

On a brighter note, I'm beginning to cotton on to the idea of summer wedges. Just as it's about to go out of fashion. Haha but it's hard finding a nice, colourful one that is not too high. Still searching for the perfect one though...

Plugging in: Lexy - Tomboy

This shall be my first attempt at trying to blog in Chinese. I just forsaw a million a one difficulties.

//edit
Oh my god. Did I really write that?? It's supposed to be 更上一层!

Plugging in: LeAnn Rhimes - Some Say Love

“ 日有所思,夜有所梦。”

I woke up this morning and I suddenly thought of that Chinese idiom. Well, there's a reason why I thought of it, but I'm not going to mention here. However, thinking about that idiom made me realise that Chinese is such an amazing language, albeit a difficult one. One word can actually incorporate a thousand meanings. I love the language, and the rich culture behind it. I'm proud to be part of an awe-inspiring legacy that spanned thousands of years, and a civilization that was one of the earliest.

I just walked out of there.

Seriously, what's the point? So what if I could talk about the stars and moon? So what if I could carry myself well? Nothing matters because those fugly scars are so freaking glaring. Even though I regret, it doesn't make things better. It doesn't unbreak my mom's heart, it doesn't lessen the pain, and it doesn't make the scars go away. Laser it off? Bullshit. It will only minimise the appearance, not magically banish them all. A million apologies will never be enough to the people who love me, who care for me. I regret so freaking much. I can't do a single thing without people asking me. It's a permanent blemish, etched deep into my skin, my heart. My self-worth has just dropped to a new, all-time low. How I yearn for someone to help me, but no one can. So it's back to bed for me, to curl up under my covers, to dream about a scar-free life where I could walk around with gaiety and much freedom... that I used to have.

Plugging in: Kool Shen - L'avenir est à nous

OMG. I GOT THROUGH AGAIN! Final round, the tea party, will be on 29th August at some Airline Road. I've never heard of such a road before ^^" I counted the number of emails sent out - there are only 25 girls, including me. I'm so surprised. Maybe they loved my nails XD

I watched Love Wrecked with Murdoc today! Utterly chick flick. And Amanda Bynes is so funny! I love her expressions XD Watching Chris Cormack acting as the rock star made me finally comprehend the meaning of 'Himbo'. Another thing - Jonathan Bennet is so FREAKING HOT. I love his eyes! I love his nose! I love his lips! I'm a fan!

And I asked a bung for her number today. HAHA not for myself though hehe ^^ She actually gave me! Hurray! Mission accomplished! XD

One more great news - 진옥의 전화번호를 가졌어! 넘 행복해! ^^v

Plugging in: 3 Doors Down - Here Without You

My dream to become a cabin attendant just got one step closer - I got through the interview!! It was pretty nerve-wrecking actually. A group of 10 girls had to self-introduce themselves, and after that, the 2 interviewers only picked 2 lucky girls out of 10! This Malay girl and me! ^0^

So the swimming test and uniform fitting round was today. The swimming test wasn't as horrid as some girls wrote on the forums. I half-expected to jump from some mock aircraft into a 6m deep pool and etc., but no. They just taught you how to use the lifevest, see how you use it, wear it, swim backstroke across the breadth of a 1.8m deep pool, and there you go!

Uniform fitting was kind of cool. I thought the silkair uniform ugly, but when I saw it, it actually looks pretty good. I was made to walk around in it, smile, show my lovely nails [to which the 3 interviewers oohed and ahhed over it.] and respond to some questions.

However, I felt so out-of-place there! 1 bright, colourful girl with a bag that jingles and has a million and one things dangling out of it. All the rest of the girls slathered on makeup, wore heels, formal clothes and looked so bloody mature. I felt like some little kid there ㅠㅠ

Plugging in: Baby V.O.X. - Xcstasy

I've got another one of those weird calls today again. Needless to say, I'm bloody annoyed. I mean, get a grip. No one likes desperate guys hounding for some form of female presence.

Anyways, Net managed to bring some much-needed cheer to me.

Tada!
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Though, may I add, I find flowers a wasteful product of consumerism. You can't eat it, you can't hug it, you can't play with it. When it rots and dies, off it goes to the bin.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Now this, this is more like it - Chocolates! You can eat it anytime, anywhere, and the best thing is, cocoa causes the release of endorphins, thus making you feel happier! And they wonder why women love chocolates... So yes, a thank-you to Net for being nice to me :))

I've just finished watching 'Attention Please' by Aya Ueto. She's so A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E.!!! I love, love, love, love the show! I think I've watched it like, 3 times? I'm still not bored by it ^^" But the show really inspires me to be a cabin attendant! I want to be on JAL tooooooo -whines- How I wish I had learn Japanese before ㅠㅠ but it's ok. I love SIA too XD

I got my nails done!
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
It's supposed to be strawberries, but I couldn't bring myself to choose red. That colour is just so hideous. So in the end, 2 people ended up saying it looks like watermelon. ㅠㅠ

My makeup artist/hairstylist did the most wonderful thing to my hair!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
I loved my hair so much! Murdoc's hair was kind of punkish. Chris nearly did a mohawk for her
(>.<) -envy- I wish I could do mohawk too, but my face is too round ㅠㅠ

And off it was to prom with Murdoc and Hien [I don't know how to spell her name ㅠㅠ]! It was pretty boring actually, but I had fun seeing people whom I missed! The one person who shocked me the most was 도영. I've always thought her as very pretty, but last night, she was absolutely STUNNING. She won some Ms Season award too. No idea which season though. And Denise looked so good as a girl. HAHA such a waste though. She looked good as a bung too. XD Anyways, I felt so awkward throughout prom because I was sitting between Sherwin and Murdoc. I could see that Sherwin was kind of disappointed, but I couldn't do anything too ㅠㅠ The last part of the prom was the lamest. The sound system wasn't exactly in working condition, and the music just kept getting cut, or just loses volume. Crap shit. Anyways, some pictures here. Which I realised, I don't have any picture taken with Azimah! But I did remember taking one shot with her...

After prom, 4 teachers brought many of the students to some Boat Quay club. We were practically owning the club? HAHA. It was nice drinking though :)) and even nicer dancing like a mad cow! I don't know whether it's fate or what, but I met another Englishman. Haha for some reason, he seemed to think I was like some "hot chick", as quoted from him, and kept wanting to dance with me. But at least he was polite enough to ask me whether he could kiss me on my lips, which of course, the answer was a no. He kept pestering though ^^" weirdo. Anyways, the FUNNIEST thing happened. This guy dragged his female friend to me, to which she introduced herself as an editor of some online magazine. Apparently, her magazine has this 'Babe of the Month' section, and she wanted to feature me. HAHAHA she said she will give me a free makeover, take pictures, email me 10 questions which I'm supposed to answer and email back, and then she will publish it. Minutes later, they came back to me again. The guy was abit desperate to find another girl, but apparently, he couldn't. The girl laughed and remarked to me, "Wow. You must be proud of yourself, you know. This means that you're the prettiest girl in the club." Frankly, I think it's just the lighting. And the great makeup.

Anyways, I bumped into Shawn and Matthew after the club closed. Shawn doesn't have his spiky 'botak' head anymore! ㅠㅠ But they were pretty shocked to see me. They said I looked pretty. Which got me thinking, that means I was ugly??!

Rei bboyed at 18:46

There's a stabbing pain in my right eye.
I'm bloody tired.
I'm still supposed to call Shawn and talk to him.
I need to wake up early tomorrow.
Or rather, today.
Preferably at 8.30.
But my eyes...
I'll blog later.
After I manage to wake up and do what I'm supposed to do today.
Which after that, I'm supposed to go out with Net.
I NEED REST.

Plugging in: 박정원 - 그대만이

Bei, I so need your expertise now.

Anyways, I'm kind of nervous for prom. It's on this friday at Carlton Hotel at around 8pm?
What if the hairdresser screws up my hairdo?
What if the makeup artist has absolutely no colour combination sense?
What if I trip over my heels and fall with much embarassment?
What if I accidentally spill gravy/drinks on my dress?
What if I just look HIDEOUS?!
I hate prom.

Tomorrow's training day for Murdoc and me. Training-to-wear-high-heels-and-walk-around-comfortably day. ㅠㅠ We still have yet to find a good nail parlour.

Cactuses have needles because they need to protect their tender insides from predators. When stripped bare, they are vulnerable to attacks. And that is how I feel how. Bare. Vulnerable. Secrets that I've hidden for so long are all spilled out in the open. I'm scared. I'm very, very scared.

They say, eyes are windows to our souls. And so I would like to say, you used to have prettier eyes.

I went back to St Francis today to pass Murdoc her finished homework. I can't believe I actually miss doing homework! XD We went off to town and ate at NYDC. I thought I could at least finish like half of my baked rice, but I only managed a quarter. I don't know why, but I've been feeling nauseous the entire day. There's this like, churning sensation in my stomach that's making me all queasy.

And Bei, why are you so sharp? You know no one guessed it?

Anyways, we watched The Lake House. Pretty sweet show. Then again, it was adapted from a Korean movie anyway. Don't know the title though.

I had to rush off after the movie to JP to save Aria from annoying guys. Haha but being at JP reminded me of Jei. I got reminded of the times when I used to go to her house... for mahjong sessions, movie marathons, sleepover, dance practices, and dinner. But Boon Lay really changed alot. I couldn't even recognised it. So much for the nostalgic feeling.

Rei bboyed at 23:30

Yes! No more worries for prom! My nice designer solved the problem of my jewellery, and heels are already bought and left with him. On D-Day, all we have to do is get down to his place, wear the dress, have a professional to do our hair/makeup, slip on the heels, and we are good to go! Whoopee~ Dress is looking perfect too. My brilliant idea to bring 2 designs together worked! It's now looking gorgeous and so one-of-a-kind XD But I made more modifications to it as it's a teensy weensy bit low-cut. ^^" I'm not much of a sexy girl anyway.

Murdoc came and we went to Cineleisure to eat sushi! Suki Sushi sells cream puffs which are not featured on the menu, but it is so DAMN DELICIOUS. Please ask the staff for it. If you're a food lover like me, you would never want to miss it. The puffs are so soft, and the cream is oh-so-smooth and meltingly sweet. -salivates-

We watched My Super Ex-girlfriend which was funny with a capital F. Even the ending had the whole theatre in stitches. I wonder though, how many girls out there would die to have powers like G-girl so that they can shove a chainsaw up their ex-boyfriends ass. Or throw a hungry shark that would trip over itself to chomp on the guys' 'precious bits' to them.

Happy 41st Birthday, Singapore!

I didn't even know Singapore has 41 years of indepedence till I checked it out just to write "happy birthday" on my blog. That's probably like one of the shortest years any independent countries could have in the world. Then again, maybe not. Montenegro hasn't even reached 1 year of independence.

Anyways, I find the National Day Parade a real bore. It's always the same to me every year. Civil servants marching, rifles firing, President coming in, then the dance starts. Raffles landed in Singapore, Singapore started modernising, Japanese invaded, British occupied again, then hurray, independence. It goes on to how from a small dot in the map, Singapore managed to make themselves heard in the world etc. etc. Then it would be the sing-a-long session before gorgeous fireworks. End. Of. Show. I'm not on some Singapore-bashing spree or something. I mean, I love Singapore, after all, it is my home, but sometimes, the propaganda stuff can get abit lame.

It's also kind of ironic that history books only start writing about how Singapore developed AFTER Raffles landed. What about before? You mean there was nobody living in Singapore before Raffles came? Well, you could argue that Singapore was just a boring fishing village that was part of a larger and probably more exciting malaya, but hey, there was that great lion...

Plugging in: Coasters - If You Want To Be Happy

This song cracks me up.

If you want to be happy for the rest of your life,
never make a pretty woman your wife.
So from my personal point of view,
get an ugly girl to marry you.

And there's a mini conversation in the song that starts with,

"Hey man! I saw your wife the other day.. and she's UGLYYYYYYY"

HAHAHAHAHAHA. It gets me laughing without fail.

Anyways, my house has suddenly turned oh-so-quiet. The Brother's friends from London came to Singapore for a holiday and they stayed over last night. Boy, were they rowdy. They even barged into my room and declared that my laptop was theirs before lugging it away. They were up all night playing xbox and FT. But they were pretty nice guys. Knowing that me without my laptop was like a fish without water, they kept me occupied with their lame jokes and letting me have a go at the xbox, since I'm so noob at FT ^^" However, they commented that I don't remotely resemble a human. They said I looked more like one of them girls in the Japanese anime. I got super -____-", because that was like the nth time since I heard that coming from people. But it was nice being with them :)) - almost like being in heaven, surrounded by all the london accents. -nosebleeds-

Plugging in: Teriyaki Boyz - Super L A R G E

I woke up early for the cosplay competition at Cine yesterday. It was GOOOOOOD. Murdoch and I were beating ourselves up for not bringing our cameras though ㅠㅠ And I spotted Ryoma! The boy was soooo cute (>.<) I hugged him and squeezed his cheeks! Nah, I'm just kidding. All I did was squeaked for a picture, which he obliged ^0^. There were 2 guys cosplaying as Alice Nine. One was cosplaying Saga, the other looked abit like Shou. Anyways, the guy cosplaying Saga was SO. DAMN. S E X Y. He posed exactly like Saga! I was in ultra fangirl mode! Hehe He was so skinny!! Probably skinnier than Calista Flockhart, and that's saying alot. His clothes gave him an aura of female sexuality, so much so that if my nose could burst with blood, it would. Actually, given his looks, he could probably cosplay as Miyavi too. ^^"

Anyways, we shopped around town after the competition ended for the prom stuffs. Murdoch invited me to prom at St Francis, and she has already bought the ticket for me. I've found a perfect dress already - HOT PINK. Haha it's not as gay as it sounds, ok! I've managed to find a nice shoe at Wisma, but who knows? I might change my mind later, IF I have the energy to shop around more. Haha as for the bag, I'm not too sure about that. I did see a really cute one, but I don't know whether it will match the dress. -sighs- stressing. Murdoch managed to buy most of her stuffs that day. ㅠㅠ I'm still so far from it.

We watched Click in the night. I cried when he died. I wanted to just wail in the cinema, actually. It was so touching. Adam Sandler reminds me of a western Stephen Chow. There's always something meaningful hidden behind those hilarity. I walked out of the cinema, determined to be a better person!

WHAT BLASPHEMY. Blogging is NOT narcissistic; all those popularity sites like Friendster, Hi5, MySpace, and whatever the likes of it, IS. Notice how people in those sites can have hundreds of friends, thousands of photos, millions of testimonials etc. They love to write self-glorifying notes about themselves in the "About Me" section. Sometimes, it gives me much self-loathing to see my own profile up and running. Truth be told, many a times was I tempted to close down my accounts on those sites, all set up by courtesy of friends who mass-emailed, requesting me to join. Maybe I will close down Hi5, since I keep getting weird requests from Thais -____-" MySpace is cool; I get to plug in to music. Friendster, nah. I update myself on friends through that. Not very informative, but at least I do get to see their transformation through the years, just like how friends of mine who were shocked to see mine ;p

Anyways, I watched Nacho Libre today with Aria. Funny show, though I cried when he won the match. Hahaha I feel so dumb. But there was this particular song which managed to strike a chord in me. I'm trying to look for it now. Hopefully I find it!
